Paul has been a Patron of Bristol Silents since our sell-out 'Paul Merton discusses Buster Keaton' event in February 2002.

A huge silent comedy fan, Paul's favourites are Keaton and Chaplin. Paul hosted our first Slapstick silent comedy festival for us in January 05.

He says: "Bristol Silents has done a great thing for silent films. People as a whole have forgotten how wonderful they could be � how wonderful they still are. This festival [Slapstick] has started off the creation of a whole new audience. There�s no doubt they�ll all come back if we can do another festival next year. And we certainly hope to, after the success of this one!"
