Late Additions To Stand Up For Slapstick Bill

So, we promised you new names would be added to the Stand Up For Slapstick bill & now here we are delivering just that!

Firstly though, in the unlikely event that you have no idea what we’re talking about (or if you just want a refresher / reminder about what all this ‘Stand Up For Slapstick’ hoohah is all about) then I recommend you bob over to this blog where we introduced the reason for the show and gave you idea of what the evening would entail.

More information about the event can also be found on Colston Hall’s website (where you can also buy tickets of course, assuming you haven’t already (or even if you have already but are feeling in a charitable mood!)) here.

Soooooo, we have two new names to announce! I know, we’re spoiling you eh? In no particular order the new performers are:

Ronnie Golden

Ronnie, aka Tony De Meur, is a singer, guitarist & comedian who probably first came to most of our attentions as part of the Comic Strip back in the ’80′s. Ronnie also fronts a R&B and soul group & writes songs & sketches for Radio 4 shows.

Ronnie has also been a long-time musical collaborator with Barry Cryer and will be appearing on stage at Stand Up For Slapstick with Barry.

Boothby Graffoe

The final new addition to the bill is Boothby Graffoe. Boothby is a comedian, singer, songwriter and playwright with a surreal sense of humour.

Boothby also works with Canadian band Barenaked Ladies. During the ’80′s Boothby “caused a stir on Opportunity Knocks when he wrapped sellotape around his head for comedy effect”. Sounds like our kind of guy yeah?

So there we have it. The doors haven’t yet closed, there may be even more additions to add to the bill & there are still plenty of tickets left. It’s going to be a riotous evening so if you haven’t already bought tickets then we’d be thrilled if you’d consider coming to join us over at Colston Hall on Sunday 24th June. We’d also be very grateful if you could help spread the word & let all your friends know about it too - the more that come the better the evening will be!

Thanks for reading.

Already there… Great to see Boothby added, saw him in Bath recently, don’t mind some repeats of the jokes. If this gig isn’t sold out then somebody needs a big bag of stupid taking off their head

I just thought I should spread the word that Giorgio Moroder’s limited edition of Metropolis will be released on DVD in the UK. It will also be viewable online on July 23rd through YEKRA- a revolutionary video on demand system that conveniently streams directly to you! If anyone is interested the official trailer is at Metropolismovie.co.uk!
